Sturm Ruger to open NC plant

Connecticut based gun manufacturer, Sturm Ruger & Co., Inc, has officially announced plans to open a manufacturing plant in Mayodan, North Carolina. Sturm Ruger, who headquartered in Southport CT, does not presently manufacture guns in the State of Connecticut. Its present plan is to spend up to $27 million to upgrade a former Unifi Inc. facility and create 450 jobs by 2017.
