New State of CT Economic Development Leader

Mark Duclos

Governor Malloy has appointed a new Commissioner of Economic Development. Catherine Smith, former head of ING’s U.S. Retirement Services, has accepted the Governor’s challenge to attract new businesses and encourage existing business to expand right here in the Nutmeg State! Kudos to the Governor for recognizing that this state doesn’t need another government bureaucrat in one of the most important positions in his administration. For understanding that we need a business person who understands the trials and tribulations of the business world and the challenges that businesses face in the state. Good luck to Ms. Smith. I hope that you become the #1 salesperson for this state and that you begin to turn the ship in the right direction.
