CNR plans 150,000 sf in Springfield MA

CNR MA, a division of China based Changchun Railway Vehicles, has announced plans to locate a rail car manufacturing plant at 655 Page Boulevard, Springfield MA. CNR reportedly plans on constructing a 150,000 square foot facility at the former Westinghouse plant. Total investment is estimated to be $60M. Estimated completion of construction is 2017.

CNR MA has a contract to produce 284 rail cars for MBTA.
